CHAPTER 25 Baldad Recounts Man's Rottenness

1 And undertaking, Baldad the Shuhite says, 2 For what retort or fear is his -- the one making all things in the highest? 3 For let not any undertake the thought that there is deferment for marauders. [²upon ³whom ¹And] will there not come an ambush from him? 4 For how shall [²be ³just ¹a mortal] before the lord? or who may cleanse himself born of a woman? 5 If [²the moon ¹he should order], then it does not shine; and the stars are not pure before him. 6 But alas, man is rottenness, and the son of man a worm.
